Alpha-Rom Overview

Alpha-ROM is software copy protection service based on Alpha-Disc technology.
Alpha-ROM protected software is impossible to copy through 1:1 copy using CD-R/RW, CD image copying or hard disk drive copying.

Alpha-Rom Feature

In Alpha-ROM, multiple technologies are applied, including the core OHD(Optical Head Ditching) technology based on physical characteristics of optical disc and disc dirve mechanism.
Alpha-ROM service can overcome the existing limit of copy protection technologies and it can even be applied to the next generation media, DVD-ROM.

Alpha-ROM is applicable to various game and office software running on Microsoft Windows OS(95, 98, 2000, NT, ME, XP).

Alpha-Rom Service Process

After signing Alpha-ROM license agreement with SETTEC, SETTEC or reseller approved by SETTEC R&D center, make the original software into Alpha-DISC Gold Master by inserting technology information and encryption process through Service Toolkit.

The Alpha-DISC Master is recognized in mastering process and made into Alpha-DISC Stamper by SETTEC R&D center certified mastering & replication companies.

In this process, physical Digital Signature sectors are inserted and various copy protection technologies are applied before producing Alpha-ROM protected Disc by the stamper.

In each process, we provide best service through multiple testing, result analysis and verification process by Alpha-DISC Verification System.

 

How to work

Physical Digital Signature fields in Alpha-ROM applied CD-ROM/DVD-ROM recognize the original disc in PC and authorize normal playing.

Additionally, this fields contain sectors, unable to be copied by hard disk drive in PC and unrecordable by CD-R/RW, so that reading data, copying and playing in PC are fundamentally impossible without authentication of the sectors.
